Dear Friends Don Bosco did in the last years of his life a trip to Spain in order to continue to seek funding for their work and especially The Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Rome. In addition, it expressed on several occasions his desire to visit his "friends in Spain." The Salesians were already in Barcelona since 1884 by charity and generosity of people admiring the work of Don Bosco. Invited by illustrious patrons, including Mrs. Dorothea Chopitea traveled to Barcelona and stayed in the city between April 8 and May 6, 1886.
a difficult journey was long and painful. Was accompanied by his secretary Don Santo Viglettti and Don Rua himself, the then Vicar of the Rector Major. Both witnessed the magnificent reception to waive the city and the affection of all the locals who did not stop and visit everywhere by claiming he passed his blessing. Don Bosco came with an aura of holiness and many wanted to find the man of God to ask for their intercession in some grace.
The health of the elderly priest was very poor. Already during the journey, to the physical weakness that manifested and the problems that were happening was thought to stay the trip and return to Turin. But at the insistence of Don Bosco, eager to meet his English friends, arranged everything to move forward with the program established but with the greatest caution and care possible. Vigletti Secretary on 4 April he wrote to Lemoyne in Turin:

The reception was wonderful and warm and delicate attentions. Barcelona society knew of the arrival of the holy priest and dispensed a warm welcome. Echoed the city's newspapers for days and attended Don Bosco all, received all and blessed all those who came to him to hear a word of encouragement, spiritual advice, or just touch his robe.
But an extraordinary event marked a special way those first days in Barcelona. Between 9 and 10 April, Don Bosco dreamed . I was excited Don Rua, his secretary and Don Viglietti Branda, Director of Sarria. It was a dream "missionary" . Don Bosco saw thousands of youths who shouted: "You there!". And also featured a group of boys led by a shepherd who said countries and places unknown. This drew a line from Santiago de Chile to Beijing through Africa. The shepherd said

- But how can we do? The distances are vast, inaccessible sites and we are not yet sufficient.
The shepherd said

"How we like Mary," he exclaimed Don Bosco. It was, once again, the expression convinced that Maria Auxiliadora always accompanied and made intercession for the congregation. These revelations accompanied him throughout life and Don Bosco realized he could go forward because the blessing of God and the Virgin's maternal mediation never falter.
This was transmitted to their children and have lived so many generations of Salesians who have borne a thousand times that trust in Mary Help always generates miracles.
